Handmade Holiday: Snowflakes

If you saw my living room wall post, you are probably already aware that I get really into paper crafts around the holidays.  And one of my favorite festive paper crafts is snowflakes.  Snowflakes are so beautiful, they’re super easy to make, and they really pump up the holiday spirit in my own home each Christmas.  For the past few years, my boyfriend and I have always had a snowflake cutting night.  I mean, how cool are we!?  But really, it’s so fun…we put on a holiday movie, get some cider steaming, and cut up a bunch of paper.  The pets also love playing in our paper mess!

I love hanging the snowflakes from the ceiling in our office, and this year we even incorporated some of them onto the french doors we have connecting to our bedroom.  To make these snowflakes, we cut the paper to the standard triangular fold and then freestyle it from there.  If you’re unfamiliar with the triangle fold, follow up to step #5 here.  Here’s some photos of our snowflakes on display this year.

I was introduced to your site by a coworker, she knew I would want to make your house plant cupcakes. I am a high school math teacher who is a foodie. I really appreciate the fact that your snowflakes are multiples of 6. Yay!
Not only is your craft beautiful it is accurate. Thank you so much for this.
