DIY: Doily Garland
Follow the steps below to create one of your own beautiful doily garlands. These garlands are super versatile and very easy to make!
Steps:
1. Dependent on your preferred triangle shape, use a pencil to draw a perfect (or almost perfect!) triangle onto one piece of cardstock. Cut it out. Use that triangle as your template and trace the shape onto your other pieces of cardstock to cut. It’s up to you, but I like to have between 8 – 12 different triangles on this type of garland.
2. Using a glue stick, adhere one doily to each triangle. As you’ll see in the smaller image, I like to glue my doilies on in a variety of different sizes and positions on the triangle.
3. Hole punch the top corners of your triangle.
4. Lay out the doily triangles in a line. This will allow you to see what your garland will look like and will allow you to arrange the order of the triangles. With them in a line, cut your string to size, making sure you’ll have a few extra inches on each side to hang the garland. Working from one end, loop the string through each hole, making knots to prevent it from sliding around.
