Monday Motivation: Scope 2013
This weekend I stopped by the Scope NY Art Fair – “Continue Reading” to see a few of my favorite works from this year’s show.
[a little inspiration and motivation for this monday]
1. / 2. / 3. David Zalben’s intricate wire sculptures. Just look at the room constructed entirely out of wire – the shoes, the pizza box, the chair(!), the fan…it is all so detailed. See more work by David Zalben HERE.
4. Russell West’s “Somewhere” is absolutely amazing. Made from oil on wire and board. It was one of my favorite pieces at SCOPE. Check out his work HERE. [Note: Full work not shown in above photo]
5. One of Hee-Kyung Kim’s paper masterpieces from the artist’s “Bloom” series. The material is Korean paper.
6. Bradley Hart’s “Injections” series. Now this one really blew me away – the material is acrylic paint injected into bubble wrap. His process creates pixelated images that look incredibly photo-realistic. Honestly WTF – so awesome! If you live in NYC, gallery nine5 is currently showing What? Where? When? Why? How?, a Bradley Hart exhibition, until March 29th.
