Succulent Update

succulent update

As some of you may remember, back in April I used a vintage toolbox to plant a little succulent garden.  In case you haven’t seen it yet, check it out by clicking on the photo below.

Well, since it’s been a few months, I wanted to post an update of the toolbox now and share the good news – my thumb is still green!  I know succulents are relatively easy to maintain and all, but still…just look at the size of these succulents now!  It’s about time for a larger toolbox!

Since many variations of succulents can thrive year-round, it’s not too late to start your own toolbox garden.  Check out the link for the full tutorial HERE.

And speaking of succulents, last week was great for my house plant cupcakes, with features of the cute cacti on Frankie Magazine and MakeZine.  If you’re in the mood for some sweets after planting your succulent toolbox garden, check out the DIY for these cupcakes by clicking on the image. houseplantcupcakes1_web

Sooooo whimsical and beautiful. You are such a wonderful artist! I love how you did the dirt and made that creamy icing look prickly!

I hope my little buds grow to look this great one day! I’ve managed to propagate two buds at the moment and they seem to be doing well 🙂
