Weekend in Woodstock
This weekend my boyfriend surprised me with a little weekend getaway to an amazing home upstate in Woodstock, New York. It was the most relaxing weekend I’ve had in a very long time – and because I was able to get into full-on chill mode, I didn’t end up taking many photos. However, I did snap a few while in the home and around town that I thought I would share. Click on “more…” to check them out.
While we spent most of our time inside, we did do a little outdoor adventuring to a nearby sledding hill and also took a few walks to the main strip of shops. It was so great being in walking distance from the downtown area. The often vivacious main street in town was very subdued with the weather and I really treasured those serene snow-filled walks.
My favorite shop in town was Pacama Handmade which was perfectly curated with a great selection of ceramics, wood work, and art. And a very nice, down-to-earth owner to boot!
Spending a little time outdoors in the snow was nice, but with the weather we were more focused on staying indoors…and that lounge-heavy time we spent inside the home was exactly what we both needed. My favorite part of the home was the open living and kitchen area which was built inside a geodesic dome (a dome!). This area felt totally separate from the rest of the house and there was something about it’s shape that made the space feel so incredibly cozy. We spent most of our time inside this area of the home listening to records, cooking meals, and laying on the couch. Throughout the home there was an amazing collection of textile and ceramic art including some beautiful macramé and string art. It was a very special weekend spent is a truly unique space.
