Dia De Los Muertos Inspired Desserts
I’ve always found myself fascinated with Día de los Muertos. I find it to be such a beautiful tradition – both for what it represents and how it is celebrated. Taking inspiration from the beauty of the holiday (which begins this Sunday), I decided to decorate a cake and some cupcakes. The cake (a semi-naked chocolate cake with buttercream frosting) was topped with chocolate, bright florals and blackberries. Vanilla cupcakes were topped with marigolds and those gorgeous fuchsia carnation petals, both of which are edible btw. I loved the way these turned out – especially the cake. I’ve include way too many pictures of it after the jump. Just looking at it makes me smile, hope it does the same for you!
