Heading out to California today, and this time it’s not for work or just for a visit home with family (not saying I don’t absolutely love those visits!). This trip is just to do one thing, and that thing is TO PARTY! And by party I mean catch up on reading, lay on the beach, hang with friends and family, road trip with my boyfriend up the coast, and just have fun. The reason for the fun-only trip is to celebrate the big 3-0. Yup, I’m turning 30 (thirty!) this coming Sunday. When my boyfriend asked what I wanted to do to celebrate, I said I just want to be in my favorite place with family and friends…so that is what we’ll be doing. The idea of turning 30 terrified me when I was 25, but it’s funny how much I’ve changed over the past five years. I am absolutely looking forward to this next trip around the sun and grateful for each moment that comes along with it.

I’m sure I’ll be posting a little glimpse of our travels on my Instagram (@alanajonesmann) and can guess I’ll have plenty of pics to share once I’m back. But, that doesn’t mean there won’t be anything going on over here. I worked my bum off this past week to que up some greats posts for my days away – there will be plenty of cakes, colors, and end of summer DIY’s for you to keep up on while I’m gone!
