Gingham Cupcakes with Cherries
This past weekend we went to Cinespia’s screening of “A League of Their Own” at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery with a group of friends. I had been doing some baking earlier in the day, and decided to decorate some cupcakes to bring to the movie. I had been using a similar piping technique on the cakes I had been working on earlier that morning (you’ll see those later), so I decided to stick with the same basketweave-esque pattern but switched up the colors I had been using to red and blue to make these cupcakes more summer picnic / gingham influenced. Once finished, I realized they needed one little extra detail so I added on the cherries! Since I got a handful of questions about them when I posted a pic on my Instagram, I’ve considered making a video of the process…that’s on my tentative to-do list for the week, I’ll let you know if it happens! For now, here’s some photos of these cute little cupcakes. And yes, I’m very well aware that all of these photos look the same, I just couldn’t narrow them down!
And while I don’t have any pics of the cupcakes at the movie, HERE is a Boomerang of me and a couple of my lady friends getting ready for the movie (I’m the giraffe on the right, in case you couldn’t tell). It was such a fun night with the greatest group of friends! Outdoor movies…it doesn’t get more summer than that!!
